About Dr. Beals

Dr. Beals is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip preservation and joint replacement of the hip, knee, and shoulder. He has recently completed his fellowship in hip preservation and reconstruction at the world-renowned Steadman Clinic, where he trained under the mentorship of Drs. Philippon and Matta, who are the leading innovators in advanced hip arthroscopy, anterior hip replacement, and the surgical treatment of hip dysplasia. Dr. Beals is a team physician for US Ski and Snowboard, and previously has provided medical care for professional ice hockey and indoor football, Division I and II athletics, and high schools.

Dr. Beals comes originally from Chicago, with stops for training in Oregon, Georgia, and Vail, Colorado. He is excited to bring his wife back to the Portland area, where she grew up. In his free time, Dr. Beals enjoys hiking, snowboarding, playing ice hockey, and cooking.
